This company has two ships: Club Med 1 and
Club Med 2 with tonnage at l4,000 each. They are classified as "world's largest
cruise ships with sails" which stretch the length of two football fields, five
164 foot masts and seven computer-monitored sails.
They carry 376 to 396 passengers
ranging in average ages from 30 to 60 years old. While most are couples, there are
senior citizens, singles but not geared for children. Passengers tend to be active,
adventurous, urban professionals, travel-wise but not picky, more interested in visiting
less-traveled islands in lieu of shopping and those who like the French ambience.
The
goal of the company is to provide an upscale but "casual chic" atmosphere
with an open, nautical feeling which is free of "glitz" found on the mass
market megaliners. Providing an informal, carefree ambience which is similar to their
worldwide villages, they have developed cruise ships with deluxe surrounding and
amenities.
CRUISE STRENGTHS: Excellent cabins, unique itineraries, slower-paced than mass market cruise ships, easy comaraderie with the staff and has an international ambience.
